About the Bike Tour

Vandalia Freedom Tour - There are three scenic routes to appeal to all bike riders. – 100K, 50K and 5/10 mile routes -- all  which begin and end at the Vandalia Sports Complex. (see map below)

The 50K and 100K routes wind through Butler Township/ Montgomery County and head north into Miami County. The 100K circles above Troy and makes its way through Casstown and Tipp City. The 50K heads north of Tipp City and joins up again with the 100K tour as it heads back to Vandalia. The 5 mile route winds leisurely through Vandalia and is a perfect ride for the family. Riders have the option of riding this route twice.

Starting Time and Rest Stop Info

Registration and check-in begins at 7 a.m. and cyclists may register the day of the event.    All 100K tour cyclists must start no later than 8:30 a.m. and all 50K tour cyclists no later than 9:30 a.m., and both may start as early as 7 a.m. (immediately after check-in).  The 5 and 10 mile riders may begin the ride anytime between 10:00 am. and 11:30 a.m. and can ride the 5 mile route once or twice (no extra cost), whichever they prefer.

 

The 50K and 100K tours each will have rest stops with cookies, fruit and beverages available.  Restroom facilities will be available at various locations on both routes.  The Family Ride will have special PRIZE REST STOPS sponsored by a local merchant.

Lunch is available for riders upon their return to the Vandalia Sports Complex. Door prizes will also be awarded at that time. All pre-registered riders (by June 20, 2008) receive a complimentary lunch and t-shirt.  Additional lunches and t-shirts will be available for a minimal charge, but in limited quantities.
